Pastina – Mama’s way

“these are the moments, i’ll remember all my life”

Another memory of my grandmother is the way she made pastina for us when we stayed at her house. Such a simple recipe that turned into a must have in our home. This would be a frequent lunch or dinner in my house when my children were young and my husband was at work. Trying to think of food to make for four children was very tiring, so I made it simple but delicious.

This is definitely a “measurements not required recipe” .

When I make this for my children I use Pastina, your choice

  • pastina
  • butter
  • eggs
  • grated cheese, to taste
  • salt to taste

Cook pasta according to directions, drain than put back in pan. Add the pastina, butter, and eggs. Cook on medium until the eggs are cooked and butter is melted, than add cheese. So simple but so delicious.
