Classic Ghirardelli chocolate chip cookies

“nothing says home like the smell of baking”

This is another dessert that I make often for my family. They always want me to bake something different each Sunday; sometimes I will make these just because I know the recipe by heart. I only use Ghirardelli chocolate for all of my recipes. Today my daughter invited her friend over with her children , so I whipped up a batch and made these for all the kids.

  • 2 1/4 cups of flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) of butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup of sugar
  • 3/4 cup of brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla (I used 3 instead of 2 like the recipe said)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 bag Ghirardelli chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375°, combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl; set aside. Beat butter, sugar, and brown sugar until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla and mix until incorporated.

Gradually add dry mixture into the creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate chips . Using a tablespoon form small balls and place on a stone. bake about 10 minutes or until it’s the way you like your cookies.
